The Law and Society Association is supported by the University of Massachusetts,Amherst and the College of Social and Behavior Sciences . Indeed, much of the scholarly work on the intersection of legislation and safety takes one of two fundamental approaches—or, at least, falls alongside a continuum somewhere between them. One approach has been to criticize authorities insurance policies and to argue for higher respect among policymakers for home and worldwide authorized frameworks. The second method has been to defend security insurance policies and practices on grounds not only of efficacy but in addition of legal legitimacy, arguing that the legislation needs to be more versatile in times of crisis and war. The CRN seeks to convey together students who have interaction with tangible property via the use of empirical information.
Our interest lies within the theoretical and practical dimensions of sociolegal scholarship associated to transitional justice, together with human rights, international criminal law, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. We hope to offer a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary forum to discover processes, efficacies debates, insurance policies, effects, and other relevant points in the burgeoning study of transitional justice. This CRN seeks to review the depictions of authorized instances, actors and courts within the media, and to explore the nature and implications of elevated media presence on the conduct of legal affairs and on public data of and belief in the legal system.
