This interdisciplinary group of scholars seeks to grasp the social, political, financial, and cultural underpinnings of punishment. We examine punishment in all its guises, not restricted to prisons and executions, or group corrections, but also in immigrant detention services, mental establishments, welfare offices, faculties, neighborhoods, and downtown.

The ABA standards require students to take at least six credit of experiential instruction, and a few faculties struggle to rearrange for students to comply with this requirement. Considering legislation colleges”™ contraction because the Great Recession, offering on-line programs and degrees may broaden the market, which might make it interesting for financially-strapped law colleges to strain the ABA to vary its standards. If the ABA was really forward-trying, it might require that some programs are offered on-line, both to prepare students for his or her on-line future and to gear up in case we need to train on-line again.
